


Specialized Assembler - HVAC
Location: Plattsburgh, NY (potential travel to Canada, including overnight)

About the Roles:
Micro Bird USA LLC is seeking a Specialized Assembler - HVAC. The Specialized Assembler – HVAC is responsible for assembling various automotive components and systems, with a primary focus on HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems. This role involves handling, recovering, and installing refrigerants in automotive air conditioning systems while adhering to safety standards and environmental regulations. The MVAC 609 certification qualifies the individual to properly manage refrigerants used in vehicle systems, ensuring high-quality and compliant assembly work.
What you will do regularly:

Assemble a variety of automotive components, including engines, transmissions, suspensions, and HVAC systems, according to blueprints, work orders, and production specifications. Ensure that all components are correctly installed and aligned during the assembly process.

Install and assemble HVAC components in vehicles, including air conditioning units, condensers, evaporators, compressors, and refrigerant lines. Use MVAC 609 certification to handle refrigerants, ensuring that installation is performed according to safety and environmental standards.

Handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations, ensuring the recovery, recycling, and proper disposal of refrigerants used in air conditioning systems. Maintain and operate refrigerant recovery and charging equipment in accordance with MVAC 609 guidelines.

Perform diagnostic tests on HVAC systems and other vehicle components to ensure they function properly. Check for proper refrigerant charge and troubleshoot issues with the air conditioning system. Adjust or repair components to meet performance standards.

Work collaboratively with other assemblers, technicians, engineers, and production staff to meet production goals and timelines.

Assist in the training of junior team members.

Maintain and clean equipment, tools, and work area.

Follow safety protocols and guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:
-

MVAC 609 Certification (EPA-approved certification for handling and servicing automotive air conditioning systems and refrigerants) preferred.

5 years of experience as an assembler, mechanic, technician, or HVAC system installation in a manufacturing environment.

Previous experience with automotive HVAC systems, including refrigerant handling, A/C system installation, and troubleshooting, is highly preferred.

Knowledge of automotive assembly processes and HVAC systems, including air conditioning components (compressors, condensers, evaporators, etc.).

Proficiency in refrigerant handling, recovery, and installation in compliance with MVAC 609 regulations.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot A/C systems and other vehicle components

Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Ability to Travel to Drummondville, Canada to train. (Proper Documentation is required, i.e. Passport/Enhanced License to cross US/CA Border)
