Production Planner

Location: Plattsburgh, NY (potential travel to Canada, including overnight)
Employment Type: Full-Time
0Salary Range: $27.00 – $31.00 per hour
Start Date: August 2025

About the Role:

Micro Bird USA LLC is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Production Planner to analyze production schedules, manage inventory levels for specific vehicles, and forecast future production needs to align with customer needs. This position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to effectively collaborate with various departments.  The successful candidate will employ critical thinking, problem-solving capabilities and analytical skills to optimize production flow and minimize operational costs while ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.  The Production Planner will also support continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our production strategy.


What you will do regularly:
  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts and available resources.

  • Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials for production.

  • Monitor inventory levels and adjust production plans to optimize stock levels while minimizing waste.

  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement in manufacturing efficiency.

  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance departments to ensure product specifications and quality standards are met.

  • Facilitate communication between production staff and other departments to resolve any scheduling conflicts or production issues.

  • Manage production planning software to enhance overall scheduling processes and reporting capabilities.

  • Foster positive relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders. Provide clear communication and constructive feedback to ensure issues are resolved efficiently.

  • Promote safety practices and ensure that materials and processes comply with safety standards. Prioritize safety in all aspects of the role, including inspections and interactions with coworkers.


Minimum Requirements:

3+ years relevant experience as a Production Planner or other related work in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive manufacturing.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to think critically and analytically.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects effectively.

  • Proficiency in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Independence, resourcefulness, and teamwork.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage crises.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 30 lbs.).

  • Work in a manufacturing setting with varying temperatures.

  • Bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, climbing stairs required.  Sitting, standing and walking for extended periods.
