Location: Plattsburgh, NY (potential travel to Canada, including overnight)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 annually
Start Date:September 2025

About the Roles:
Micro Bird USA LLC is seeking a hands-on Methods(Industrial) Engineer to be responsible for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing processes, ensuring that we produce high-quality buses while reducing costs and enhancing productivity. Strong experience working in a cross-functional team on process optimization, production planning, and lean manufacturing principles within a high-volume manufacturing environment are essential for success in this role.

What you will do regularly:

    • Process Improvement: Analyze and improve production processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. Develop and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing techniques, time studies, and workflow analysis.

    • Production Line Optimization: Balance production lines, optimize workstations, and eliminate bottlenecks to ensure smooth and efficient production flow.

    • Cost Reduction: Identify areas for cost savings and implement strategies to minimize waste, reduce downtime, and improve resource utilization in the manufacturing process.

    • Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity analysis to determine the optimal production schedule and workforce allocation. Ensure the production line can meet customer demand while maintaining high-quality standards.

    • Data Analysis & Reporting: Gather, analyze, and interpret data related to production performance, quality metrics, and cost efficiency. Provide regular reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.

    • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain, to implement improvements and ensure alignment with overall business goals.

    • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality control team to implement standard work practices, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and support continuous improvement in product quality.

    • Equipment and Layout Design: Assist with the design, layout, and optimization of factory floor spaces to improve flow, minimize waste, and enhance operational efficiency.


Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

    • 3+ years of experience as an Industrial Engineer in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive or transportation industry.



Preferred Qualifications:

    • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, process optimization, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.

    • Proficiency in using CAD software, simulation tools, and ERP/MRP systems.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Experience with time and motion studies, capacity planning, and workflow analysis.
