Location: Plattsburgh, NY (with travel to Canada, including some overnight)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range:  $75,000 - $85,000 annually
Start Date: October 2026

 

About the Role:

Micro Bird USA LLC is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor who is responsible for managing and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of an organization’s facilities, machinery, equipment, and infrastructure. This role involves scheduling and overseeing preventative maintenance, managing maintenance requests, coordinating with vendors and technicians, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Maintenance Supervisor ensures that all maintenance activities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner, minimizing downtime and supporting operational continuity.

What you will do regularly:

  • Provide leadership and support to ensure a safe working environment is maintained.
  • Ensure proper work habits, use, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and housekeeping foster a “safety first” attitude and atmosphere.
  • Lead and motivate the Maintenance team, providing guidance, support, and training to improve performance and ensure high levels of productivity. 
  • Responsible for team member development plans, identifying training, providing training and maintaining competence levels of the area. Coach and counsel employees who need help improving their job performance.
  • Supervises maintenance of equipment, buildings, and grounds.
  • Plans preventive maintenance schedules and supervises preventive maintenance work.
  • Coordinates equipment repair and installation work.
  • Supervises mandatory inspections.
  • Monitors the recommended maintenance during inspection visits.
  • Authorizes purchase requests.
  • Prepares the annual budget for the department and monitors the budget monthly.
  • Manages maintenance contracts.
  • Supervises the maintenance and fabrication of assembly tooling and fixtures.
  • Prepare activity reports.
  • Oversee the implementation of a maintenance management system.
  • Support cross functional activities with Safety, Quality, Engineering, Logistics teams, etc.; Develop and maintain harmonious, effective relationships with other company departments.

Minimum Requirements:

  • All applicants must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a maintenance department; 5 years’ experience leading a maintenance team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to promote a culture of safety. 
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and building maintenance as well as knowledge in welding, plumbing, electrical, fabrication, hydraulics, and mechanics.
  • Experience with hazardous material handling and disposal.
  • Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve production-related issues quickly and effectively with a proactive approach to process improvement
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a diverse team and interact with teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in developing and coaching teams while working in a team-based environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and proprietary maintenance programs.
