


Specialized Assembler - Welder
Location: Plattsburgh, NY (potential travel to Canada, including overnight)

About the Roles:
Micro Bird USA LLC is seeking a Specialized Assembler - Welder. The Specialized Assembler – Welder is responsible for assembling automotive components while also performing welding operations to meet precise specifications for vehicle construction. This position requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, adherence to AWS standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-conscious production environment.
What you will do regularly:
- Perform welding tasks as part of the vehicle assembly process, adhering to AWS specifications and quality standards. Use a variety of welding techniques, such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and Stick welding, to weld automotive parts and components.
- Ensure that all welds are performed to the required quality standards, meeting AWS specifications for strength, durability, and appearance. Inspect welded components for defects and ensure proper alignment and fitment before and after welding.
- Assemble a variety of automotive parts and systems, including chassis, frames, structural components, and other vehicle systems. Follow blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to ensure components are installed correctly and according to production requirements.
- Work collaboratively with other assemblers, welders, engineers, and quality control personnel to meet production targets. Assist in the training of junior team members on welding techniques and AWS specifications.
- Maintain and clean equipment, tools, and work area.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines.
Minimum Requirements:
- AWS certification preferred.
- 5 years of experience in automotive assembly and welding, specifically in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong experience in welding automotive components such as frames, exhaust systems, chassis, and body panels.
- In-depth knowledge of welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) and ability to weld to AWS standards.
- Strong understanding of AWS welding specifications and ability to apply these standards in a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills related to welding and component alignment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on maintaining high-quality standards in all welding tasks.
- Ability to Travel to Drummondville, Canada to train. (Proper Documentation is required, i.e. Passport/Enhanced License to cross US/CA Border)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing setting with varying temperatures.
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance; reach with hands and arms including overhead; stoop, kneel, crouch. Standing, walking, operating equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 30 lbs.).
