Inventory Technician

Location: Plattsburgh, NY (potential travel to Canada, including overnight)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
Start Date:February 2026

About the Roles:
Micro Bird USA LLC is seeking a hands-on Inventory Technician to be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring materials are available to support continuous production flow and on-time delivery. This role plays a key part in minimizing production delays by supporting inventory accuracy, efficient material handling, and timely replenishment to production areas.

What you will do regularly:
  • Source and purchase materials, parts, and services needed for production based on inventory levels, production schedules, and demand forecasts.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, report findings to Supervisor.
  • Enter and update data in ERP/WMS systems to reflect real-time inventory levels.
  • Monitor stock levels, identify shortages or overages, and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with Production and Materials teams to ensure materials are staged and delivered to the line as scheduled.
  • Support production flow by ensuring timely kitting, bin replenishment, and material movements.
  • Coordinate with receiving and shipping teams to verify material receipts and outgoing shipments.
  • Maintain accurate labeling, location assignment, and organization of all inventory items.
  • Assist with root cause analysis of inventory or delivery issues impacting production.
  • Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and other material flow guidelines to prevent aging inventory.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace aligned with 5S and lean principles.
  • Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment (as certified).
  • Participate in audits and help improve inventory control procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of inventory control or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • College diploma in administration, logistics management, supply management, industrial management or production operations management preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and commitment to doing the job right the first time.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Understanding of production flow and just-in-time delivery principles.
  • Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and a willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
